First Trimester | Baby Ramirez 2016

First Trimester | Baby Ramirez 2016

I decided to document our pregnancy as a way to get all my feelings and emotions out and to later look and remember this beautiful time in our lives. I hope you enjoy if you decide to follow along on this life changing journey.

My first trimester was relatively easy compared to what other women go through. The hardest thing I dealt with was lack of energy and heartburn. Within a few weeks after finding out we were expecting our baby, we decided it was best I started working part time instead of full time as my energy level was not even existent. Among this and other things, I also switched employers and went back to work for a school I worked at previously and it was the best decision for us during this time.

Emotions:
I still had a lot of fear during this time of losing the baby. Right before appointments I would be nervous and excited at the same time but also feelings of fear. Anthony was so amazing during this time in reassuring my fears and trying his very best to get me through it. However, once I would hear that little heart beat I couldn't stop smiling and replaying the sounds in my head.

Cravings:
I never really felt like I had pregnancy "cravings" I just now had an excuse to get what I wanted which was hot Cheetos with limon, Funyuns, Coca Cola, skittles and honey buns. The biggest thing was my appetite changed for example I used to love breakfast tacos but now I cannot stand eggs.

Life Changing

Life Changing

I decided to document our pregnancy as a way to get all my feelings and emotions out and to later look and remember this beautiful time in our lives. I hope you enjoy if you decide to follow along on this life changing journey.

Staring at the word pregnant on the pregnancy stick was one of the best feelings I felt. So many emotions and thoughts ran through my head.

Is this seriously saying I'm pregnant?? Like me? It actually says the word pregnant? There isn't a not in front of the word pregnant? I can't believe it actually says I'm pregnant!

I ran outside of the room to Anthony and just cried. He put his head down, "another negative?" and I looked him in the eyes with tears filling in mine. All I could do was shake my head and hand him the test and saw the same relief and disbelief I had. We went out and bought more tests that night and with three saying clearly that we were pregnant, I called my doctor the next morning to make an appointment with her to further confirm the pregnancy.

At this point,  I debated on telling anyone until after the first trimester due to fear of the test being wrong or a miscarriage. We have wanted a child for so long that my fear poured in on top of this excitement that at any moment, there is a chance of miscarriage especially so early on. In the end we decided to share the news with our family and close friends to have a support system no matter the outcome.

The Monday following I went through the routine check up with my doctor and she confirmed indeed I was pregnant and referred me to an OB doctor. The excitement rose just as much as the fear. I also realized at this point that I had such an amazing support system from my husband alone who constantly reassured and comforted me every time my fears came.

I am truly blessed to have him as my partner in this life and can't wait to experience parenthood with him.

No-Sew Scarf to Vest Tutorial

No-Sew Scarf to Vest Tutorial

Before the spring season, I purchased multiple scarfs but now that spring is over and summer is in full swing I wanted to try to incorporate the scarfs I bought into the summer season.

Let's be honest, I live in Texas so wearing something around my neck is like being naked in Alaska. No Bueno.

I decided to look to Pinterest of course and ran across couple of tutorials showing how to turn a scarf into a vest but a lot of them required sewing. The whole purpose I want is to be able to wear my scarfs across all seasons so sewing them into a vest isn't ideal.

So here is the best version of the no-sew scarf to vest conversion:

Stretch scarf out lengthwise

Fold hamburger style (who remembers that from elementary)

Tie the corners you are holding into a small knot, you could get fancy here if you want but I went the simple and easy route

Open scarf

And now you are able to wear your scarf as a vest during summer without overheating.

Now tell me you are not excited to do this to all your scarves? I know I am now that I can get more bang out of my buck.
