Valentine's Day | Pretzel Sticks + FREE Printable

Valentine's Day | Pretzel Sticks + FREE Printable

I normally don't do anything special for my students on Valentine's Day but I felt inspired since I had left over candy melts from our baby shower that didn't get used and figured this was the best excuse to make my last class something. I decided to do dipped pretzels sticks as they looked easy enough and wouldn't require much time or effort.

All I needed for this sweet and salty snack was candy melts, pretzel rods and sprinkles (optional).

I began by following the directions on the back of the candy melts bag for melting. I put the melts in a tall thin container to make the dipping process easier. I dipped and swirled each pretzel rod and held it upside for a few seconds to have the excess drip off.

I first sprinkled a few rods straight with the sprinkle container but found too much sprinkle was coming out so I decided to hand sprinkle each rod instead but to each their own on this step.

Finally, after the dipped rods had time to dry I began my assembly process of putting a rod in a sandwich Ziploc bag and attaching a printable I created for my students. A printable I am offering to you for FREE (check the bottom of this post).

Download here

I hope you found inspiration for your students or for your child's classmates; your child could definitely help with the process and making the gift so much more meaningful. I would love to see pictures of how you decorated your pretzel rods for Valentine's Day as well if you care to share!

ps. please excuse the horrible lighting, I was working on this for my students late at night.

Valentine's Day | Outfit Ideas

Valentine's Day | Outfit Ideas

Anthony and I normally don't do anything too fancy on actual Valentine's Day because we don't like dealing with the crowds. Our usual spot to celebrate is Olive Garden and they don't take reservations so we normally go on another day to celebrate or cook something similar at home. One year Anthony went all out and recreated the salad and breadsticks for us, it was amazing. I am not sure what we will be doing this year, if we do anything at all but that hasn't stopped me from outfit scheming.

My first option has a classy feel to it with the delicate pearls and light pink shade. I most likely will wear this one with the cognac flats but thought it would be nice for yall to see it with wedges for you non-preggos.

Classy Option 1

Classy Option 2

Something about the classy outfit seems so timeless and sweet to me, maybe it's the pink. My next option is the complete opposite with the zipper joggers paired with a striped tee and blazer. This outfit was fun to come up with and would make me feel edgy if I were to try this one.

Edgy

The third option I created, I was going for a sexy vibe and something about red, leather and leopard screams that to me. This option could be switched around by adding a leopard clutch or heels instead of the scarf or maybe leather leggings if your shirt is long enough to cover yourself (save that type of sexy for the bedroom ladies, we are not interested in what undies you are or are not wearing).

Sexy

Due to my feet hurting so easily, I most likely will stick with Classy Option 1 for my Valentine's Day look but I hope you were able to grab inspiration and can pull an outfit together whether your enjoying a meal with your lover or your girlfriends.

Valentine's Day | love you more Printable

Valentine's Day | love you more Printable

I don't normally decorate our house for Valentine's day or really any holiday other than Christmas and Thanksgiving. However, this year I have been kinda feeling the Valentine's day spirit (maybe because it's our last one alone) and thought I would create a simple printable that can be displayed for the holiday and long after Valentine's day. This simple little saying is something Anthony and I say to each other everyday and thought it was the perfect personalized quote for us to display in our room. I also thought it would be nice to share with you guys for free!

The size is 4x4 and can be used to display in a frame on a shelf or nightstand or can even be used as a gift tag by hole punching on top and putting a string through. I would suggest printing on cardstock for a more sturdy high quality look.

Download here
I hope you enjoy this little printable and stay tuned for a few more Valentine's Day ideas I have coming up!

Bump Date | 32 Weeks with Sophia

Bump Date | 32 Weeks with Sophia

I decided to document our pregnancy as a way to get all my feelings and emotions out and to later look and remember this beautiful time in our lives. I hope you enjoy if you decide to follow along on this life changing journey.

I must admit, this week of pregnancy has been the hardest between the discomfort and the exhaustion although my blood work showed I am anemic so hopefully taking iron supplements will give me a little boost of energy again.

I remember once I felt comfortable in my pregnancy and it finally felt real that we had a baby growing inside of me, I would have anxiety attacks thinking about being 30 weeks or further along because of the fear of giving birth. However, when I think about birth day now I try to picture what this beautiful babygirl will look like and wonder what type of emotions I will go through and it feels like I am daydreaming. I don't have the fear I once had, I am actually looking forward to going into labor just so I can finally have my Little Love in my arms. I think one of the things I am looking most forward to after pregnancy is the ability to lay on my stomach again. I have been struggling for weeks, WEEKS, with sleeping comfortably and I know I obviously won't ever have a good night rest becoming a mother but I just want to at least get to rest my body comfortably. No matter which side I sleep on, Little Love scoots to that side and elbows and knees me and when I lay on my back (it's only to give my sides relief for a few moments) Little Love smooshes my lungs and makes it pretty hard to breath. I am definitely being prepared for the sleepless nights to come but I know it will be worth it once I get to stare down at my baby.

I also struggled a lot with putting outfits together this week, I didn't have the energy or the inspiration plus my feet are hurting a lot more and coming up with cute outfits to coordinate with my tennis shoes instead of flats is kinda hard. I feel at this point its more about comfort but I hope I can find inspiration to make my outfits fashionable so I don't feel like I gave up on my life which is how I felt this week. Not a good feeling.

Baby Shower Games + FREE Printable

Baby Shower Games + FREE Printable

This past weekend, our friends and family got together to shower our Little Love with love. We were surprised with how many people come out and felt so lucky to know so many others are just excited about our little girl as we are (I will be sharing more photos of the entire babyshower later on so be on the lookout). After we enjoyed refreshments, my sister led our guests through some fun baby shower games.

One of the first games we played was called Yummy Yummy. Guests tried to guess what type of baby food we had out either by tasting or smelling which only one person was brave enough to try tasting the food.
via
We also played a game where guest have to remove clothespins off a hanger one at a time using only one hand without dropping any. The highest amount taken off was 17 I believe and the smallest was 1. It was kinda funny watching everyone attempt this.

And of course, it wouldn't be a proper babyshower without the guests trying to figure out how round mommy's belly is. I think my belly was 12 squares of toilet paper round, the highest guess was 21 (I must look like a cow to that person) and the lowest guess was around 8, (maybe?).

The last game we didn't have time to play as we were already 2 hours in the shower and still needed to do cake and presents however I thought I'd share it with you and include a FREE customizable printable for you guys!

Download your FREE Who Knows Mommy & Daddy printable here.

While the games are fun to play and watch people play, I really enjoyed the time of fellowship with everyone and the cake (it was delicious!)

Bump Date | 31 Weeks with Sophia

Bump Date | 31 Weeks with Sophia

I decided to document our pregnancy as a way to get all my feelings and emotions out and to later look and remember this beautiful time in our lives. I hope you enjoy if you decide to follow along on this life changing journey.

At this point, I feel like time is flying but at the same time it is at a stand still. I am so anxious to meet our little girl but still feel like this is unreal. I imagine what it will be like the day I see her for the first time and the emotions I am bound to go through but it feels like it's only a dream. Obviously her little kicks and punches remind me its not a dream and while I'm anxious to meet her and have my body back (tossing and turning in bed is no fun), I am trying to soak up these last weeks before she is here. I know I will miss these little moments we share of her wiggling around inside of me and I know I will miss the alone time Anthony and I have been able to share without children, those moments will be harder to find.

I also noticed such a huge difference in my belly size from Week 30 to Week 31, baby girl has definitely grown. It shows in my energy level as well, I have been even more exhausted this past week and find I cannot stay on my feet too long without them pounding or my heart racing. All simple tasks are now nearly impossible and must be assessed before performing.

Baby Girl Nursery | Crib & Bedding

Baby Girl Nursery | Crib & Bedding

If you follow me on Instagram, you know the nursery is a bit of a mess since it is hosting all of our baby shower decorations and such. Despite that, we were able to make a little progress with setting up the crib and styling it with Little Love's bedding.

I don't know about you other mommas out there but just having this set up makes it all the more real. I love passing by her room and seeing the crib, I daydream of what it will be like for her to finally be here. Anthony and I will even go in the room some evenings and just sit on the floor and chat. It also makes me excited that my vision for this room is coming together.

The quilt was a custom order from Ink and Thread Quilts. Melinda was a pleasure to work with and the quilt came out better than I could have imagined. I sent in my inspiration picture and she went straight to work sending me updates and finalizing fabric color decisions.

Does this pillow look familiar to you?

It was apart of the original guest bedroom design and we were lucky enough that it also fits into Little Love's nursery design. The colors match perfectly with the colors in our quilt. We purchased it from Touchee FeeleeEuodia, the shop owner, was inspired by the scales of a salmon fish when she created this design and she did a wonderful job.

Originally we wanted one of those really large giraffes for Little Love's room but those are quite expensive so when we saw this giraffe on sale at Hobby lobby we picked it up immediately as our very first purchase for Little Love.

It also has sentimental meeting since it is a TY beanie baby. As a kid my grandmother would always gift me with one for all occasions. I actually have my collection in the attic and plan to go through some of them to hand down to Little Love.

So it may not be much progress but at least we have something done. I am currently working on a DIY art project that will be displayed above the crib [UPDATE: fabric kite tutorial here] and again if you follow me on Instagram, you already got a peek as to what is is I am working on. You can also look for my #littlelovesnursery on Instagram for live updates.

Bump Date | 30 Weeks with Sophia

I decided to document our pregnancy as a way to get all my feelings and emotions out and to later look and remember this beautiful time in our lives. I hope you enjoy if you decide to follow along on this life changing journey.

Man, these past 30 weeks have flown by! I can't believe we have about 10 weeks left before we meet our babygirl!! I am super excited but I wouldn't rush this process for anything, I want Little Love to develop as much as she can especially that brain.

I noticed breathing is becoming harder and I have been tired during the day even when I do have a good night of sleep. Falling asleep is still hard but I always struggled with falling asleep even before I was pregnant however I don't get up as much as I use to in the middle of the night so that is a nice break. It's hard to describe but I feel little knots sometimes were Little Love is probably pushing her feet or hands, it's different from a kick so maybe she is stretching? Idk, it feels weird but amazing at the same time and sometimes it can be uncomfortable especially if I am laying down but it doesn't hurt at all.

Side Note: I got my puffer vest as a Christmas present years and years ago and I cannot find it online nor can I find a similar one for a reasonable price range therefore I didn't link anything. If I come across one that I think will match for a decent price, I will add the link or if you can find one let me know so I can link up to it!

Outfit on Repeat

Outfit on Repeat

Unless you want to spend a fortune on maternity clothes, you are kind of stuck using a capsule wardrobe during your pregnancy (especially during the second and third trimester). So it's no guessing that a lot of your outfits will be on repeat throughout your pregnancy.

If you get creative you can create so many different looks with one outfit by simply swapping the accessories, something I mentioned previously in my Breaking Rules post but lets look at this a bit further.

I love the simplicity of this outfit and by adding a pearl necklace and boots, it makes this outfit feel more dressy even with the comfiness (is that a word?) of tights.

By changing out the tights for jeans and adding a utility vest, this outfit becomes more of a causal everyday look. I even swapped the boots for sandals although you can barley see the sandals in this picture and I chose not to wear a necklace.

And here again, I swapped for a neutral cardigan and flats with a basic necklace. I feel this outfit could be used as a dressy option if you add the pearls in or an everyday look with a simple necklace or no necklace at all.

So although these outfits are virtually the same, I was able to get different looks by switching out my layers and accessories.
Until next time,
xoxo
